Rules and Policies for The Academic Year 2016/2017

Dear Parents, The administration’s prior concern at Educare International Academy is to strengthen and increase the cooperation between the School and the Parents to build a solid relationship based on mutual respect and understanding. After all, our main goal is the welfare of our STUDENTS. To achieve our goal, here is a list of rules, which we hope that you kindly comply with. After reading the memo thoroughly, we kindly urge you to sign the attached form and return it to the school as soon as possible.

1) Preschool, KG1, and KG2 school hours start at 7:30 A.M. and end at 12:15 P.M. Primary students start at 7:30 A.M. and leave at 1:30 P.M. Students must arrive to school no later than 7:30 A.M. In case of late arrival, the student must go report his lateness to the receptionist to register his/her presence. In case of unjustified tardiness, students receiving five times tardiness will be marked by the school as one-day absent. Unfortunately, if the number of absences exceeds the permissible number of absences, we will notify the Supreme Council that will take the necessary measures. Students are not allowed to be dismissed of their classes before then end of the school hours unless the parents have got a valid reason. Please note that you are not allowed to park in front of the School’s main gate unless you are dropping off your kids to school. The school is not responsible for any student who remains at school premises after 2:00 P.M.

2) Parents are not allowed to step into the classroom corridors during school time to speak to any of the teachers. Meeting with a teacher should be done by appointment after the approval of the administration.

3) Mobiles and electronic games are strictly forbidden at school. If a student brings a mobile, it will be confiscated by the administration till the end of the Academic Year.

4) Soft drinks, sweets, chocolate, gum, nuggets, rice, eggs and pasta are types of food that are not allowed at school. Please send healthy food items with your kids like vegetables, fruit, biscuits, juice…etc).

5) Because we care about the personal hygiene of our students, we recommend them to do the following:

  • Take a shower daily.

  • Have neat haircuts regularly.

  • Cut their nails regularly.

  • Wash their hair with a Lice Shampoo once every two weeks as a precaution to avoid lice from spreading.

6) Birthday parties are not allowed at school for all classes.

7) Avoid absences, and in case of illness, students must provide the school with a medical report.

8) Students who are absent on the day of a quiz or an exam will undergo the following consequences:

  • Unjustified absence: Students must sit for the quiz or the exam the day of their return to school. Their overall grade will be deducted by 50 percent.

  • Excused absence: Students must sit for the quiz or the exam the day of their return to school. Their grade will be over 100.

9) Respect the school’s properties and premises, and if any student intentionally damages any of the school’s properties, the parents must pay to fix what has been sabotaged.

10) Disciplinary Rules and Procedures:

Students will be given 3 oral warnings followed by a written warning. Every 3 written warnings, the student will be suspended for one day.

In case of repeated suspensions, the student might become at risk of being expelled from school.

11) The communication between you as parents on one side and the teachers and administration on the other side is a must.

12) Students must wear their uniform. In case of disobedience, students will not be allowed to enter the classroom.

13) The Arabic Language subject and the Islamic Studies are mandatory for Qatari students and optional for non-Qataris. Easy Arabic will be given to non-Arabic students upon their parents’ request. Non- Muslim students are exempted from Islamic Studies classes. During religion classes, they might choose to go to the Art Room or the Computer Lab. As for Muslim students who can’t read and write the Arabic Language, they will be treated as listeners only.

The History of Qatar subject is mandatory for all students. It will be taught in Arabic for the Arab students and in English for the non-Arab students.

14) Books will not be distributed to students unless you pay the tuition fee for Term One.
